Valentines Appropriate Pink Plum EOTD

This semester my classes start quite late so I have more time to get ready and doll myself up for school :) In high school I used to wake up at 5:50 AM but I hardly wore makeup at all back then (maybe a few days of eyeliner in senior year). The other morning I had quite a bit of time on my hands so I decided to stray away from my usual brown eye look and use some shadows I've never or rarely touched before. I used a shimmery light pink color for the inner part of my lid and tearducts (from the Covergirl Shimmering Sands Trio swatched HERE) and filled the rest of my lid with the light pink from Loreal HIP's Sculpted Duo. I really like this duo but I've hardly used it since I bought it in the summer.

I then patted a dark brown shadow (darkest brown from Maybelline's Best In Brown Trio swatched HERE) on the outer crease area and blended the color using circular motions. I swept a bit of the dark purple from Sculpted on the outer corner and into the crease to bring out the pink shadow. I smudged the brown shadow on the lower lashline to define the eyes further.

I got back into lining my eyes with gel liner because I really miss the effect it gives my eyes. In all honesty I find lining my eyes with gel or cream liner is so much easier than pencil or liquid liner :) It takes a bit of practice but it's very well worth the effort. I used Physician's Formula gel liner trio in Black and the pigmentation is not the greatest but I kind of like the smokey look it gives.

This look is simple and elegant with a hint of color on the lid :) Suitable for daily wear or a romantic Valentines Day dinner ^^

I need to find a good brush for my PF cream liner as well.

  4. mandy: It's never too late I guess :) I think I started at a good time because it somewhat bothers me when 12 year olds are wearing foundation.

ndoodles: I like to use angled liner brushes when using gel or cream liner. I want to try bent liner brushes though!

Rainy Days: Purple and plums are some of my favorite eyeshadow colors :D They are very wearable but never boring!
