Tropical Orange and Teal EOTD

I feel like I haven't posted a legit EOTD in a long time and this is supposed to be mainly a beauty blog.... My apologies! The truth is I don't seem to have enough "interesting" looks that I deem blog worthy. Not to worry though! I'll try to take more pictures of my looks and I actually really enjoy photographing products together so you can better see what I used to do my makeup. Okay, enough babbling!

You know it's summer when teal and corals start appearing on all the makeup advertisements and runways... and I can't help but to add to the hype. Coral and teals are perfect for a fun summer day! I normally don't wear brights as you probably gathered from the overwhelming number of neutral looks featured on this blog. But as I was rotating my eyeshadows (I tend to switch up what's on my vanity in order to use as many of the products I own as possible) I found my Maybelline Eyestudio quad in Irresistibly Ivy (swatched HERE) which I had never used on my eyes.

I figured what the heck and after a few simple brush strokes, I was extremely pleased with what I had on my eyes. My photos do NOT do the second shade in the palette (which looks like a gold but is more of a coral orange on the eyes) justice. My makeup was much more vibrant in real life so just pretend my camera can pick up the shade complexities in all their glory :)

I used the light champagne shade in Revlon's Skinlights creme shadow quad all over my lid as a base. Then I placed the first champagne color in the Ivy quad on the inner and middle portion of my lid. Then I placed the second coral, orange shade on the rest of my lid at an angle so that it would be more concentrated near my lashline. Then I lined the outer portion of my lower lashline with E.L.F's shimmer eyeliner pencil in Twinkle Teal (swatched HERE) and set it with the beautiful teal shadow in the quad. I used the lightest shade in the Copper Chic quad also from the Maybelline Eyestudio collection to highlight the inner corners of my eyes as well. Then I simply lined my eyes with E.L.F's Copper Cream Eyeliner.

All in all, this is a very simple, easy to do makeup look that I've already worn twice this week! I didn't realize I pretty much used all drugstore, affordable products until I compiled everything for a group picture. Hope this was helpful to you all and please let me know your favorite bright eye combinations for the summer!

  1. I love how simple and wearable this look is. I have been too lazy or busy to do a look lately too.

  2. Thanks Pang! I think when school starts I'll be skimping on the makeup because I have to wake up early again :(
