New Favorite: Lancome's Effacernes Waterproof Undereye Concealer

As you can already see by the title, I'm loving the newest concealer I got my grubby, makeup-loving hands on. A friend gave me a sample of Lancome's Effacernes Waterproof Protective Undereye Concealer (what a mouthful) which I don't believe I have ever heard of prior to actually looking up reviews. The shade I have is Clair II which is a pretty good match for my skin tone at the moment and will probably be even better when I get a bit lighter in the fall and winter.

I had no expectations for this concealer prior to testing it out simply because I have never heard of it before. I do tend to like liquid concealers because I find them easier to blend. The Effacernes is the perfect creamy, liquid concealer. I squeeze a small dot onto the tip of a concealer brush, as shown above, and dot the product under my undereye area and on problem spots all over my face. A little bit of product goes a long way. This concealer blends like a dream and is quite moisturizing. It sinks into my skin easily and the product dries down to a satin finish which looks very natural. The coverage is medium to full which is good enough for me since I usually apply a tinted moisturizer or foundation over my concealer to blend everything together.

I decided to take a before and after picture just to give you a better idea of how this concealer covers. In the before picture I am wearing absolutely no makeup and in the after I have applied and blended in Effacernes under my eyes. You can see a visible difference and my whole complexion looks brighter and more awake.

This concealer is perfect for people who like a creamy liquid concealer with good coverage and a natural finish. There are twelve shades to choose from which means most people can find a good match. A definite con to this concealer probably came to mind when you saw that this was by Lancome. A .52 ounce tube retails for $29.50 which is on the pricey end of the concealer spectrum but one tube would probably last me at least a good two years. After I finish my other concealers (which will probably take me another year) I can see myself purchasing the full size during a gift with purchase deal.

What's your favorite concealer at the moment? Have you ever heard of this concealer or tried it yourself? Let me know in the comments!

  2. I had a sample of this a few years ago and ended up buying the full size not long ago. I haven't opened it yet because I realized this concealer can be quite unforgiving on a dry undereye area :(

  3. littlelucy: My undereye circles aren't that bad at all to be honest but I have a ton of acne scars and spots to conceal :(

Ashley: Ah, I make sure to fully moisturize my undereye area before applying concealer. My skin is usually somewhat damp from toner and moisturizer because I feel like it helps my makeup blend in and stick around longer :)

  4. Dang gurl! It does brighten your eyes a bit but I was already jealous at how good you already look on your before picture. My current favorite for dark circle is the Eve Pearl salmon concealer.

  5. LOL, I usually get a good 6-7 hours of sleep everynight even when I'm really busy so maybe that's why my undereye circles aren't that bad. I think really dark circles are also attributed to genetics. I've heard about Eve Pearl but it doesn't seem too accessible :(
