Anne Hathaway Catwoman Inspired Makeup Tutorial

This tutorial will come as a surprise for those of you who regularly read my blog. My tutorials and looks are often bare bones and incredibly wearable. This... is not normally my thing. But a PR company contacted me and asked me if I was interested in doing a tutorial for Anne Hathaway's Catwoman look. I was about to decline the offer (I am not getting paid or anything of the sort for doing this but the mask and poster were given to me for free) but I figured why not. Anne Hathaway is one of the most beautiful women in Hollywood, I really enjoyed the previous few Batman films, and I like a good challenge.

I researched a few photos of Hathaway's look and came to the conclusion that she had pale, matte skin with not much blush at all. Her eyes were not smoky but rather light with a reddish brown crease color. The eyeliner is very dramatic and dark all around the eyes with sharp edges in the inner corners. Hathaway's lips are a dark, almost berry red with no glossiness.

Check out the video below if you're thinking of getting a head start on your Halloween costume or just to see me attempt a more theatrical (than usual) look!

  1. I think it came out very well! It looked more complicated in your preview photo but I love how simple it actually was!

    1. I think the mask made it look a lot more complicated and it really brings the look together :) I had a bit of trouble with lining the inner parts of my eyes though!

    1. Thank you so much :) You're too kind! I rarely do dramatic looks anymore because it's not something I feel 100% confident in when I'm in public. But it was a lot of fun adapting Anne's makeup and making it suit my eyeshape.

    1. Thank you! Haha, I've never lined my eyes so heavily in my life because I'm always scared of making my already small eyes appear smaller. It turned out better than I had hoped!
