Mac Ample Pink Plushglass: A MLBB Lipgloss

Julie from Lilladylife was kind enough to gift me a tube of Mac's Ample Pink Plushglass after multiple attempts at trying to get me to purchase it. She's not a fan of the normal Mac lipgloss formula but she loves Ample Pink and after trying it, I'm totally hooked by the scent, color and consistency.

Plushglasses retail for $19.50 and contain .14 oz of product which is more expensive than the regular lipglasses but still more affordable than the cremesheenglasses which I like as well. Mac claims "Sheer lip colour with a pearlized high-shine gloss finish. Comfortable to wear: lush, multi-dimensional. Gives a cool-warm, vanilla buzz to the lips. Moisturizes, soothes and visibly plumps the lips to make them look luxuriously healthy and well-conditioned. Contains vitamin E for added environmental protection." I must say their description is pretty much spot on however the scent comes off a bit more like caramel rather than the typical vanilla smell that I expect from Mac. The plumping tingle was not too noticeable for me and was much less pronounced than the Too Faced Glamour Gloss. I have read reviews from people who could not handle the feeling though so if you have sensitive lips you might want to be wary.

Ample Pink is sheer but you can see the cool toned pink it imparts on my lips. The formula is a bit sticky which gets stickier as the gloss fades but it does not leave a ring of white gloop. Overall I am very pleased with this lipgloss as it's super easy to pull off and feels nice on the lips. If you like natural lips with a touch of shine, head over to your local Mac counter and try Ample Pink plushglass!

  1. It seems like a dark plum/berry shade in the tube, but on it looks so natural! & Love the finish of it!

    1. Perhaps it's because I took the photo during a cloudy day so it's looking a bit darker in the tube. But it definitely leans a bit lilac and cool in the tube. The sheerness makes it very wearable though!

  2. So pretty! I actually just put on macs bubble tea plush glass this morning and remembered thinking how much more I love these glosses than the regular mac lipglasses

    1. I haven't tried any of the others but now I want to pick up a few more plushglasses! I wish they had a wider selection of colors though :(

  3. I hate plush glasses, they make my lips dry, chapped and ugly. I've tried several shades and nothing worked on me. There's something in the formula that irritated my lips =(

    1. Aw, sad to hear you didn't get along with the formula. I've read other reviews similar to yours so it's not like you're the only one. There are many other glosses without the plumping factor that irritates so I'm sure you can find a similar color! :)

  4. I'm glad she gave it to you! I personally love the Plushglasses and think they look great layered over lipsticks.

Hope Amsterdam is treating you well!

    1. I was so surprised when she gave it to me and I'm SO thankful because I probably would have never picked it up myself. I don't think the plushglasses get enough love from the blogging community!

    1. Yep, MLBB shades are always easy to throw on to look a bit more put together without looking like you've tried too hard ;)

    1. Florabundance looks so pretty but I hear the formula is horrible. I think the cremesheen glasses are pretty nice though! :)
