When I first picked up a KIKO Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow in Porto, Portugal, I had no idea how much I would love it. I only tried out the product after I had returned to Amsterdam and KIKO is not available in the Netherlands. I thought I wouldn't have the chance to get some more shades for years. Little did I know that there is actually a KIKO store in Cologne, Germany which I stumbled upon while exploring the city. I was overjoyed, to say the least, and promptly popped in to pick up a few more shades of the products I knew I loved. I chose two more neutral shades in 06 Golden Brown and 07 Golden Beige because I knew I would get the most use of them, as opposed to the wild turquoises and vivid purples.
Here are the two new shades swatched alongside 05 Rosy Brown, which is probably still my favorite shade of the three. To restate a few key points I addressed in my review of Rosy Brown, each eyeshadow retails for €6.90 (about $9) and you get .05 ounces of product in a sleek twist up tube. The pencils are creamy and easy to apply, yielding shimmery, pigmented goodness that looks fantastic all over the lids.
These are indeed long lasting and hold up to the claims of being eight hour transfer resistant. When I went to London a few weeks ago, the only eyeshadow I packed was Golden Brown and I didn't even bring an eyeshadow primer! Simply applying the shadow to the lid and blending it out with your finger or a brush will give you an effortless smokey eye.
I am thrilled that I got the chance to stock up on a few more shades and cannot recommend these shadows enough. The formula, price, and design are all great and perfect for those who want an easy eye makeup look.
