Smokey Plum Eyes for Fall
I usually stick with a neutral eye look when I go to class just because I don't have a lot of time to play with color. But on Thursday my first class was canceled and my first and last class was at 2:30 :) So I decided to do a smokier eye than usual using two of my favorite colors, taupe and plum!
I used the Loreal HIP duo in Electrified that Nouveau Cheap raved about for the FIRST time and I love ittt so much :) I snagged it up a few months ago but never got around to using it like most of my shadows :( I'm a hoarder.... It was supposed to be limited edition but I think its going to be released as part of the permanent line soon!
What I used was pretty straight forward....
Urban Decay Primer Potion pictured all the way at the top (heh, sorry most of the bottle is cut out)
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Iced Mocha as a color base
E.L.F Quad in Day 2 Night
Physician's Formula Gel Liner in Black
Loreal HIP duo in Sassy
Maybelline Falsies Mascara in Blackest Black
Loreal HIP duo in Electrified
E.L.F Studio Blush and Bronzer (both sides)
Very soon I'm going to do a post comparing Day 2 Night with Electrified as they can appear pretty similar! :) The E.L.F quad is only $1 while the Loreal duo runs about $7-9 X_X Pretty pricey for drugstore.... But of course I got mine for on sale. I own 4 Loreal HIP duos and on average I got each of them for $2.60!
You can't really see how dark my eyes actually looked in the picture above but I just wanted to do an entire face picture with my lips (The first picture of my post is with my bare lips.. eek!). I wore Nars' Striptease Lipgloss and it's super opaque with not even one coat. I dabbed a bit of product onto the center of my lips and smoothed it out with my finger. It gives a really nice finish that is unlike most lipglosses ^^
My lighting washes everything out :( But my lips were darker than usual and I thought it went well with my eyes and the weather in general. The received a deluxe sample of the Nars lipgloss from
Although I rarely wear lipglosses and I don't tend to reach for this duo, I really enjoy the consistency of these colors! Although they can appear scary in the tube they apply nicely and a little goes a long way so I probably won't buy a bigger tube of these colors anytime soon :) Everyone raves about Turkish Delight though and I love my baby pinks so maybe I'll give that a try one day....
Thanks for dropping by guys :) The drugstores are gonna have some pretty good deals in the upcoming weeks so expect a haul post in a few weeks ^^ I plan on getting some stuff from Maybelline, Revlon, Physician's Formula and possibly Loreal and Wet n' Wild depending on if the seasonal limited edition collections appear in my drugstore!
