Zoya Gei Gei: Barbie-esque Nails
When I laid eyes on Zoya's Gei Gei, I immediately thought of one of my favorite childhood toys due to the pretty pink shade and silver micro-shimmer. Gei Gei is described as a full coverage "blushing cherry blossom pink metallic" and was originally designed for the Zang Toi SS2013 collection. Cherry blossom is a spot on way of describing Gei Gei but full coverage and metallic it is not. The coverage was actually quite sheer. I generally found that the shimmers from Lovely Collection to be more sheer than the creams, needing three rather than two coats. Gei Gei, however, needed four and even then I found the coverage not exactly opaque. The shimmers are evident but not exactly metallic which is good or bad depending on what look you're going for.
While a baby Barbie pink is an apt addition to any nail polish collection, the sheer coverage of Gei Gei made it a let down. This would be better suited for layering over another pink shade in my book. What was your favorite polish from the Zoya Lovely collection?
