Shiseido Sheer Eye Zone Corrector: Time Saver, Face Saver

If I had to pick only three makeup products to wear for a quick and easy "my face but better" look, undereye concealer would definitely be one of them. For everyday, I favor thin, easy-to-blend formulas and a pen applicator is one of the easiest delivery methods. Shiseido's new Sheer Eye Zone Corrector* is the latest one I've tried and it's been a challenge to use any other concealer in my collection since.

Pen style concealers aren't the best bang for your buck in terms of how much product you get. The Shiseido corrector contains 3.8 ml or .14 oz and costs $30. For comparison purposes, the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in a tube contains .22 oz and costs $29. There are six shades to choose from and I am shade 103, the third lightest shade. The product dispenses when you twist the end of the pen and one or two slight twists is all you need for both eyes. The product has a nice fragrance that I like but can do without since I don't need my undereyes to smell nice and it can be irritating for some people.

The brush is quite flat and wide and the synthetic bristles are soft to the touch. A few swipes around the eye area and a few pats with my ring finger ensure the product is evenly distributed. The formula is very lightweight and creamy but it gives surprisingly decent coverage for a pen concealer. Shiseido did well when it emphasized this product was meant to be sheer. It's not near medium coverage by any means but I think it does a good job at covering my slight dark circles.

The ingredients list is fairly long and conveniently found on the packaging. Those who don't react well to silicones might not like this product as there are a number of 'cones in this formula. I guess that's what makes this corrector so blendable and light on the skin.

You can see what a big difference this corrector makes for my undereye area. It totally brightens up my complexion without looking ashy or dry. The product wears well throughout the day and does not crease or cake up. Good stuff all around!

Although I have used thin, dry and meh pen concealers in the past, Shiseido's Sheer Eye Zone Corrector caught me by surprise and has become a staple in my everyday makeup routine. The ease of it and the instant results make it a win in my eyes. I would highly recommend this product if you don't have much time to do your makeup and prefer a no-makeup-makeup look as opposed to a totally flawless, borderline fake look. Do you like pen style concealers? Which one is your favorite?
