What's in My Spring Makeup Bag?
I used to be adamantly against retouching and applying makeup outside of the comforts of my own home for some reason but I've changed my stance on this matter. Some mornings, I simply don't have time to swipe on blush or a lip color before work so I've taken to toting a few quick fixes in my little essential beauty products pouch.
I carry the Clean Well Natural Hand Sanitizer Spray which I really enjoy using as well as some alcohol wipes for the random scrapes and cuts that happen sometimes. Altoids are a life saver on the occasions I eat something with onions or something of that nature. A fine toothed comb is a must for someone with bangs as are some hair ties and clips which I forgot to pack in my bag that day. As a contact lens wearer, I suffer from dry eyes from time to time and the Rohto Eye Drops are great due to the clear packaging. I hate having to guess how many drops I have left! I have some perfume samples that I almost never use but I still like to keep in my purse because they don't take up much space and you never know when you might have to smell nice. I also have a mini Tiger Balm which is a cooling ointment that I have used since I was a youngster to alleviate stomach aches and mosquito bites. I usually have a few lipbalms rolling around my bag at any given moment and now I'm finishing up the Nivea A Kiss of Milk & Honey which is nice but not a repurchase. The Paul & Joe Oil Blotting Papers come in a very pretty floral packaging which match my makeup bag nicely.
As for makeup, I often apply my base and eye makeup at home and now I often apply blush in the morning when I get to the office. This season I'm liking the Bourjois Cream Blush in Nude Velvet because of the super tiny compact. It is the most portable blush I own and the cream formula means I can apply it when my fingers. I still think it's a bit overhyped but the peach shade looks nice on my pale winter skin and can take me through late May until I get too tan. Benefit's Watt's Up is another great makeup bag staple because it is the tiniest tube but a little goes a long way. You can apply it straight from the bullet and blend it with your fingertips for an easy glow. It's not rare for me to be out at work, school and other commitments for over 16 hours a day so it's no surprise my makeup fades sometimes. I keep the Soap & Glory Kickass Concealer handy in case I need to reapply some concealer in some areas and powder to control my oily skin. I don't carry around a powder brush so for a quick fix, I just fold up a tissue and pat it into the powder and then lightly tap the areas on my face I need to mattify. It's not as good as a brush but it works in a pinch! Lastly my two favorite spring lippies are the Tony Moly Petite Bunny Gloss Bar and Mac's Plushglass in Ample Pink.
What essentials do you keep in your makeup bag? Do you switch up the products in month to month, seasonally, or whenever you feel like it?
